A passion for the outdoors runs deep in Dave’s background. He was raised hunting and fishing in Oklahoma, and he graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1984. After enjoying time as a professional baseball catcher in the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs organizations, Dave co-founded the Rocky Mountain Angling Club with Don Hart in 1992, and was responsible for leasing over 70 fly fishing properties in Colorado and Wyoming. In 1995, Dave took time off from a busy work schedule to capture Top Rod Honors at Trout Unlimited’s prestigious Super Fly Tournament in Gunnison.
Today, Dave lives in the foothills of Colorado with his wife Dixie and Border Collie, Griffey. Whenever he can, Dave grabs his fly rod or bow and heads for the high country. The call of a bugling elk or the subtle rise of a big brown renews his love for all things outdoors and fuels his desire to help those of kindred spirit to fulfill their Rocky Mountain dreams, too. From the moment our team first discussed the Ranch with Harrigan Land Company (HLC) all the way through closing the deal, Hunter and Dave consistently exuded experience, poise, class and work ethic. During their broker presentation to us, they stated something to the effect that no other broker would out work them. We fully bought into that at the time. Now, we can attest to it.
Our Ranch was one of the largest of its kind on the market and our team was based in the East. Hunter and Dave listened intently and appreciated our business objectives. From there, they set forth honest expectations related to price, timing and the market so that we could configure an approach that would meet our objectives. Despite all the challenges, we never doubted that HLC could get us to close.
Hunter was our main point of contact throughout the process. He consistently maintained communication and kept us well informed at every step. Three or four years ago, we started looking for ranch properties in the mountains to fulfill a life, long dream. We really had no idea exactly what we were looking for at the time. I contacted Hunter Harrigan to inquiry about different ranches that I had seen online. After several phone conversations, we agreed to meet him to look at several properties. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant to be around. Hunter had plenty of patience and never made us feel like our questions were foolish. It would have been easy for him to consider us to be “tire kickers” and ignore our phone calls.
After we narrowed our search to a couple properties, Hunter introduced us to his dad, Dave. His knowledge and expertise of real estate is phenomenal. We consider Dave to be the “closer”.
