Its about the time of year to start preparing for this year’s Colorado bow hunt. Nothing can add to this year’s success more than good equipment. We bow hunt in remote areas of Colorado where failure to prepare and lack of quality gear could be devastating. For this reason, we put a lot of preparation and thought into our equipment.
Bow hunting elk is a pursuit that often times involves days in the wilderness, battling everything that nature has to offer. One of the biggest challenges during archery season may be the weather extremes. This time of year can be very hot or full of early snow and freezing rain. Temperatures may be in the 20’s before sun-up and upper 80’s by early afternoon. So, you need gear that can adapt.
We love clothing that is scent proof, lightweight, waterproof, windproof, warm and quiet. One of the most important articles in our mind may be a good boot. You want a boot that is waterproof and warm, but lightweight and comfortable enough to put on some serious miles in pursuit of that monster bull.
Take some time this year to prepare and invest in some good equipment. It will be worth it.
